Mastering the Art of Steak Seasoning: A Guide to Perfect Flavor

Are you ready to elevate your steak game to new heights? Seasoning a steak may seem like a simple task, but mastering the art can take your culinary creations from ordinary to extraordinary. Whether you're a seasoned grill master or a novice in the kitchen, follow these steps to ensure your steak is bursting with flavor every time.

Step 1: Choose the Right Cut

Start by selecting a high-quality cut of meat. Whether it's a tender filet mignon, a juicy ribeye, or a flavorful strip steak, the quality of your steak will greatly impact the final result. Don’t cheap out on this step, because this is a VERY important step when it comes to how your steak will turn out.

Step 2: Prepare the Steak

Before seasoning, ensure your steak is at room temperature. Lay out your aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Pat it dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture, which can prevent proper seasoning absorption. This step is crucial for achieving a flavorful crust on the steak.

Step 3: Season Generously

Now comes the fun part—seasoning! Generously coat both sides of the steak with your chosen seasoning blend. At Grover’s we use a special blend that we are perfecting for our customers. Don't be afraid to get your hands dirty and really work the seasoning into the meat for maximum flavor penetration.

Step 4: Let it Rest

Allow the seasoned steak to rest for at least 30 minutes at room temperature before cooking. This allows the flavors to meld together and ensures a more evenly cooked steak. We like to seal them in a zip-loc bag so they absorb all the amazing flavor from the seasoning.

Step 5: Cook to Perfection

Whether you prefer grilling, pan-searing, or broiling, cook your steak to your desired level of doneness. Remember to let the steak rest for a few minutes after cooking to allow the juices to redistribute, resulting in a juicier steak. We recommend low and slow on the grill, that’s how we do it ‘round here. We cook ours at 225 degrees until an internal temperature of 105 degrees has been met, remove the steaks from the grill, turn the grill temperature up to 450 degrees, add the steaks back to the grill until an internal temperature of 132 degrees has been met. Allow the steaks to rest for at least 15 minutes before diving in.

Step 6: Enjoy!

Slice into your perfectly seasoned steak and savor every juicy bite. Whether you enjoy it on its own or paired with your favorite sides, a well-seasoned steak is sure to impress even the most discerning palates.
